"Append Child" disabled

Post by micheleIBM »

Hello,
I'm using oXygen v15.2.

For some weird reason  , since yesterday, the function "Append Child"-> Reference ... is disabled.
As I select a node in the left panel "DITA MAps Managers", all the opinions in the menu "Append Child" are disabled. Any hint?

Thanks in advance for the support.

I've already attached a screenshoot with the support ticket I've opened. Anyway, I've resend the screenshoot again. Can I upload images in this forum? How?

Hi Michele,

Thanks for sending the screenshot.

The DITA Maps Manager view can be used only to edit content in one DITA Map (the DITA Map which is initially opened in it).
The actions for inserting new topic references are disabled in that context because the topic reference on which you want to append a child is located in another DITA Map.
So as the DITA Maps Manager cannot edit directly content located in indirectly referenced maps, you will need to open and edit in the DITA Maps Manager view directly the secondary DITA Map in which you want to make the changes.

About uploading images, this forum does not have this capability, next time you can upload them to a third-party server and reference them from here.

Regards,
Radu
