Dialog for inserting file path crashes

Post by robsfl »

Hi all,

when editing hazard statements (DITA) and inserting a hazardsymbol, the dialog for editing the file path always crashes the first time, but when repeated it always works the second time.

In the hazardsymbol element I click Alt+Enter to access the attributes, then select the href attribute, browse to the image file and click OK. The dialog closes without returning to the previous attributes dialog. When I repeat the procedure however it works and I can insert the new href value.

Bug or user mistake? I am using the XDocs version of Oxygen.

Hi Robert,

The in-place attributes editor is quite focus sensitive, it tries to automatically hide when focus is given to another component which is not descending from it.
Probably when the XDocs dialog for browsing the CMS opens the in-place attributes editor dialog auto-closes. I'll ask for an opinion on the XDocs side.

Anyway, here's a better way for you to insert the hazard symbol. Just place the caret where the element can be inserted and use the toolbar "Insert Image Reference" action to insert it. A hazard symbol is defined as a type of image so the action which is specialization aware should know to properly insert it after you choose the reference to the image.

Hi Radu,

thanks for the help! Using the "Insert Image Reference" action works well.

Hi Robert,

About your initial problem with the attributes editing dialog disappearing, somebody from XDocs tried to reproduce the problem on his side with no success. If possible and if you have the time, you could contact us directly using support@oxygenxml.com and I can try to put you in touch with the main XDocs developer, to give him more details to reproduce the issue on their side.

Radu
