Cannot see text in Find /Replace in Files... dialog
I have a dark theme (that I customized myself) for editing XML in text mode. It seems the settings for the editor also affects various dialogs. Press CTRL + F to launch the 'Find/Replace' dialog - in my case the 'Find' and 'Replace with' text fields have a dark background and white text - perfect.
However, press CTRL + SHIFT + H to launch the 'Find/Replace in Files...' dialog and the 'Text to find' and 'Replace with' text fields have white text on white background. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to change it. I have to select text to see what it says.
I am using Oxygen Editor 16.1, 64 bit on Windows.
Hope you can shed some light on this.

Re: Cannot see text in Find /Replace in Files... dialog
Hello,
The issue you encounter is related to the fact the the combo-boxes in the 'Find/Replace in Files...' inherit background properties even from the Windows theme you have currently set.
The text in the 'Find/Replace' dialog is visible, as the text areas in that dialog are treated more like small editors in oXygen than combo-boxes, so that the background and foreground options set in the oXygen preferences get in effect in this case.
Therefore, the visibility issue could be solved by using another (adequate) theme in Windows.
As a workaround, even if there is no option to influence the background of the combo-boxes in the 'Find/Replace in Files...' dialog, you could however change the background of the text actually inputted in those boxes.
For that, you have to go into oXygen menu Options > Editor > Colors and, under the Text category in the list, select "Text" and just check the "Background" box on the right side of the list. Then you could choose a dark color of your preference and apply the changes.
Probably this would look more as a text highlight to you, but it would still make the text in the combo-boxes visible, without having to change or edit the current Windows theme.
Regards,
Costin
