DiffDirs: Scripting's XML and|or JSON report should be source for DiffDirs
Hello,
I have one RFE regarding, as usual, DiffDirs. Let us imagine, that one has a very large directories. Running DiffDirs takes a lot of time and the user has to wait till DiffDirs ends its job. OK, we have HTML report, which is nice for non oXygen users, for publishing on webserver. etc. But when You want to perform DiffFiles right in oXygen, You can not use HTML report directly.
So my RFE is: oXygen Scripting (and of course, even DiffDirs can, but it does not make a business case for You) already produces difference report in XML and JSON format. What about new possibility, that DiffDirs GUI application can not only perform directory differences by itself, but can consume (open) difference report in XML and JSON produced by oXygen Scripting? So the user would have instant access to the difference result. Running difference would be a night or Nhours period job for oXygen Scripting.
In such a case, I guess, that when producing XML and JSON has to be checkbox possibility to have path to Directory1 and Directory2 and each subdirectory and file has to have relative path - because oXygen Scripting would run on other computer, than user's DiffDirs GUI application so there should be some easy and quick chance to change paths.
Regards, Stepan

Hi Stepan,
Very interesting your suggestions, I must admit.
They are worth analyzing in more detail, so I will come back with appropriate comments.
Best regards,
Teo
