Measuring execution time of map validation?

Post by Patrik »

Hi,

currently I'm experimenting a lot with different schematron checks an tweaks for the execution of the checks. So it would be very helpful to measure the execution time of the validation ('DITA Map completeness check' for Map Manager) for comparision. Is there any better way then manually waiting for the completion? (e.g. after applying a transformation scenario you explicitly write the execution time.)

Thanks and regards,
Patrik

Hi Patrik,

In the Oxygen Window menu->Show view you can show the "Info" view. It should show you various information bits about the current validated topic. Right now it does not show anything about the "Validate and check for completeness". For a future version I could try to have it show the time when the dita map validation starts and when it stops if it would help you.
We've also had previous requests for showing the total amount of time validation took in the status bar near the validation status message. So this might be another way to do this.

Hi Radu,

Thanks, I would support both ideas. (Although the realization will be too late for my current experiments).

Hi,

Just to update this thread, we released Oxygen 19.1 a couple of days ago and in it the Info view should show the time that the DITA Maps Manager Validate and check For Completeness took to run.
