rng schema file strangeness

When I open some .rng files, the file name shows up in the editor button as .rng.txt and no syntax highlighting is done. Is this some kind of line ending problem? I am running oXygen 6.1 on Mac OS 10.4.2.

For some reason the file in question got downloaded with the .txt extension and the Hide Extension option was set for that individual file even though that option is globally off.

I deleted the .txt extension and all is well.

"Hide Extensions for known file types" of Windows Explorer ? <oXygen/> does not have such a feature.
