Customizing the DITA Map Metrics Report

Hi,

I would like the DITA Map Metrics Report to count the words not only from one ditamap, but from all ditamaps within the project. I have one main ditamap that includes submaps as chapters. At the moment, texts of submaps are not included in the search, only the current file content, which is clear from the setting made for the current transformation scenario {currentFile URL}. What do I need to customize to count all content?

Hi Christina,

The DITA Map Metrics report starts from one DITA Map but if it includes other maps inside it, it will also navigate those maps and referenced topics so it should produce a report based on the entire hierarchy of maps and topics which are referenced starting from the main DITA Map on which you run the report...

Yes, that's true, but the text content of the submaps is not counted. For the Text Information part, the report returns 0.

Hi Christina,

This might depend on the actual DITA Map structure you have.
In the samples I tested on my side, the Text information category properly counted all the text content in all directly or indirectly referenced topics.
If it would be possible for you to create a sample DITA Map project which exhibits the problem you could email it to us (support@oxygenxml.com) and we'll see if we can improve the metrics report generation.
