Testing Oxygen feedback
Post by Andrewjoxygen »
For Oxygen Feedback (cloud) is there a way to test on a site that is behind a firewall, or must it be a published live website?
We would like to have a testing phase before we publish our website live. Is this possible with the cloud version of Oxygen feedback?

Re: Testing Oxygen feedback
Hello,
Thank you for your question! Here's how you can approach testing with the cloud version of Oxygen Feedback:
1. Comments Application / Page Ratings
Yes, you can test the comments and page ratings features on a site that is behind a firewall. These features only require that the user can access the site in their browser. The Oxygen Feedback Cloud does not need to directly access the content of your site on the server side. As long as the webpage with the embedded Feedback component is accessible to your testers, they can fully evaluate these features without the site being publicly available.
2. Content Indexing and Search
The content indexing and search feature, however, requires that the site be publicly accessible because the Oxygen Feedback Cloud needs to index the content of your site directly. If your site is behind a firewall or only accessible via VPN, this feature cannot be tested unless the site is made temporarily accessible from the internet.
Testing Recommendations:
Regards,
Alin

Testing Recommendations:
- For testing comments and page ratings, no special setup is required beyond embedding the Feedback component as usual.
- If you wish to test content indexing and search, consider temporarily allowing external access to your test environment during the indexing process. Alternatively, set up a publicly accessible staging environment for testing purposes.
