Delete add-on

Post by Oleksii »

Hi,
I tried an add-on which eventuelly need authentication, so I won't use it. But I don't see any option how to delete it. Any time as I e.g. switch projects or open add-ons, or others I'm getting the credentials dialog window which si disturbing.
Best regards Oleksii

Hi Oleksii,
In the Oxygen main menu Help->"Manage add-ons" you should have the possibility to uninstall an add-on.
Out of curiosity, which add-on did you install which causes these problems?

Hi Radu,
the add-on is not listed in the installed add-ons.
The add-on URL is: https://bibeluebersetzer.philhist.uni-a ... 1068556350

Hi Oleksii,
Alright, I was worried it was an add-on that we distribute.

Hi Oleksii,
Yes, first close Oxygen.
Then, Oxygen has a "com.oxygenxml" preferences folder placed in your user home, locate this folder based on your operating system:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... ation.html
In that "com.oxygenxml" folder there is an "extensions" subfolder, for example for me on Windows:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\my_user_name\AppData\Roaming\com.oxygenxml\extensions
If you remove all the contents of "extensions", this will mean you will manually remove all installed add-ons.

Then re-start Oxygen.

Yes, there were two empty folders related to the Add-on in

Code: Select all

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\com.oxygenxml\extensions\v25.0\frameworks
However, when opening Help->"Manage add-ons" the authentication dialog window of the add-on still appears.

Hi Oleksii,
This means the add-on is not installed in Oxygen.
If you go to the Oxygen Preferences->"Add-ons" page you have in the list of default add-on update sites also probably a reference to that particular web site. Maybe you can remove the reference to it from there and then save the preferences. Otherwise whenever it starts Oxygen has the tendency to search through all addon update sites listed there to see what add-ons are available. And probably this end up showing the authentication dialog.

Yes, removing it from Preferences->"Add-ons" solved the issue.
Thank you!
