Custom frameworks in web author

Post by wdburns »

I'm trying to get a custom framework working in Oxygen web author. It works well locally, but when I load it in the web author, the templates do not show up. Is there something I need in my framework file to make that happen? It does seem that the web author depends more heavily on some of the fields there (like the name and description fields).

Thanks,

Hello,

What action do you use to create new file? Please note that if you try to create a new DITA from your templates you need to set the type property to dita, in each template property file. Otherwise, the template will not appear in the dialog box for creating new DITA topics from the DITA Maps Manager. For all other types of files, set it to general [1].
Another question is: did you restarted the Web Author server after uploading the framework?

These files use a custom DTD and are not DITA topics. To create a file, I click the +New item in the right corner of the Git tab.

Thanks,

Hi,

First you have to make sure that your framework is loaded. For this you can open the "Report Problem" dialog (by using the "Report Problem" action from the "More..." menu) and check if your framework is listed in the frameworks list (see the "Frameworks" tab).

If your framework is loaded then it should be another problem. We can help you investigate it. For this you can send us your framework (if it possible) on our support email address (support@oxygenxml.com).

Best Regards,
