Profiling and translation

I use 2 different translation agencies, depending on which language I want to translate into. Recently, I sent each agency a set of files with some profiling (audience, product). I send the required ditaval file to the translation agency as well. I instructed them to only translate elements that ali...

oxy_ex folders

I have many different projects in many different folders. Today, I created a map that referenced files in three different folders. When I generate the webhelp output, Oxygen creates subfolders with names like "oxy_ex-2". I currently have the fix.external.refs.com.oxygenxml set to "true"...is there a...

Can Oxygen create HTML files from markdown files?

I know that Oxygen includes a good markdown (.md) editor, but can it convert markdown files to HTML?

No, that's OK - I need it for many different projects.

Thanks for considering it for a future release.

Shortcut key to strip all profiling for any element

I looked in the list of customizable shortcuts and could not find this. To be clear, I want to be able to select an element, and use a shortcut key to instantly remove all conditional profiling attributes.

CSS/HTML PDF - Removing front matter leaves artifacts

Oxygen 21.1 2019061404 I want to create PDFs that begin with the content immediately, without any front matter. So I want to remove the cover page and Table of Contents. Starting with a duplicate of the PDF HTML5&CSS scenario. I use a publishing template to connect a blank CSS file to it. I generate...

Ctrl+Shift+V = Paste as text

Can you add a keyboard shortcut for "Paste Special > Paste as Text"? In other applications it's usually Ctrl+Shift+V.

Re: Making pictures in HTML clickable to open bigger pictures

Oh wow, I've been manually resizing the pictures all this time for nothing! This is going to save me a lot of time *and* improve functionality!

Thanks!

Making pictures in HTML clickable to open bigger pictures

Let's say I want all the pictures in my manual to be clickable links - clicking the link opens up a larger version of the picture. I know how to do this - I save 2 versions of the picture, show the small version in the topic, and make that small picture a link whose href is the bigger picture. Easy....

Re: Webhelp Responsive publishing template that includes first topic in main page?

steinbacherGE, I've been wanting to do this for a while and came up with a workaround. 1. Create a file called "Welcome.dita". Make it the first child topic in the map. 2. Use the webhelp.fragment.welcome to point to an HTML file (this parameter puts this HTML code into the head of the index.html fi...

Re: Webhelp responsive index.html file

ajod, I was in a similar situation. I wanted mobile users to end up on the index.html page, but I wanted desktop users to come straight to the content of the manual (and not see the tile or tree layout). To do this, I added a dummy file as the first topic in the map...mine was called "welcome" (but ...

What element do I use in a map to accomplish this?

When editing a topic file, I can insert an XREF to another topic file, and point to a specific ID in that topic file...so that when I generate the HTML, the link takes you directly to the anchor on the page. I want to do the exact same thing, but in the lefthand navigation menu of webhelp responsive...

Webhelp Responsive 21.1 - Word boundaries not respected on window resize

Using Oxygen 21.1, build 2019061404.

See this gif: https://i.imgur.com/cNrSOUC.gifv

Note how, as I resize the window, the word "charging" is broken up in the middle of the word. This wasn't happening in Oxygen 20, I don't think.

Oxygen 21.1 automatically resizing images?

I am using Oxygen 21.1, build 2019061404, webhelp responsive. One of my topics shows a picture of our home screen...this is purposefully a very large picture, 3000px x 1400px. When I generate my output, this image is automatically resized to 938x448: <img class="image zoom" id="untitled9__image_xrm_...

Oxygen 21.1 - Output always includes Kuromoji

I switched to Oxygen 21.1. Using webhelp responsive, my output now always includes a set of .gz files:

..\out\webhelp-responsive\oxygen-webhelp\lib\kuromoji\dict

I am not authoring in Japanese; why are these files being generated? They take up a lot of space.

Webhelp Responsive - Changing Search HTML

I'd like to edit some of the HTML for the Search bar in the Webhelp Responsive output. For example, the search bar has a tooltip that says "Please fill out this field." https://i.imgur.com/NI4FhLd.jpg However, I searched all through the plugins and could not find this text anywhere. Can anyone point...

Are there any tutorials on using DITA with Chemistry?

I tried to use Chemistry to transform a very simple DITA task into a PDF, with a very simple CSS. Not only did none of the images appear, but the steps all merged together into a single line, with no step numbers. It's super easy to generate this PDF as I want it, but from within Oxygen. I'd like to...

Use the CODEPH element. This highlights the text as you point out, within the current line of regular text.

If you want to offset a larger block with the same highlighting, use CODEBLOCK.
