Integrating a Review Task
How task owners can integrate review tasks differently depending on whether the task is independent or part of a project.
After a review is closed, the next step depends on the type of review task. Independent review tasks are used outside a project. Project review tasks are created inside a project and include a dedicated integration workflow in the review task header.
For an independent review task, the task owner applies the reviewed changes to the source content outside the review task. After the source content is updated, the owner marks the task as integrated.
For a project review task, the task owner uses workflow actions in the review task header to start, manage, and finish the integration process inside the project workflow.
Integrating an Independent Review Task
When an independent review task reaches the Review closed status, the task owner can integrate the reviewed changes into the source content outside the task. After the source content is updated, open the review task and click Mark as integrated in the review task header.
Marking an independent review task as integrated changes its status to Integrated, archives the task, removes it from reviewers' task lists, and makes the task uneditable.
Task owners can still find integrated tasks from My Review Tasks > Owned By Me by enabling Show integrated review tasks.
If you need access to the task again, click Mark as not integrated. This returns the task to the Review closed status so that owners can work with it again.
Integrating a Project Review Task
Project review tasks use workflow actions in the review task header to control integration. A task owner can start the integration process by using the Start integration button on the header. This changes the task status to Integrating and reserves the integration work for the owner who started it.
While the task is in the Integrating status, only the owner who started the integration can continue the work. That owner can click Cancel integration to stop the process, or click Finish integration to complete the integration and change the task status to Integrated.
After a project review task reaches the Integrated status, the task files are read-only for all participants and the workflow cannot continue further.
