Platform User Roles

Platform user roles define a user's primary role and available functionality in Oxygen Content Fusion.

There are two platform user roles available, Subject-Matter Expert and Author.

A platform user role identifies the user's primary role in Oxygen Content Fusion. It is distinct from scoped roles within an organization, a project, or review task.

Subject-Matter Expert

This is the default platform user role.

Users with this role have access only to review functionality. They can:

Access review tasks assigned to them.
Read the documents included in review tasks.
Add comments and suggestions.
Create and manage independent (not project-related) review tasks.

Author

This is the advanced platform user role.

Users with this role have access to the full Oxygen Content Fusion functionality. In addition to what SMEs can do, they can:

Access and manage projects.
Create and manage project review tasks.
Integrate review feedback.
Manage and publish deliverables.
Use AI features.

Each platform user role is associated with a license type. Oxygen Content Fusion provides license packages that specify the available licenses for Subject-Matter Experts and for Authors.
