Project Roles
Project roles determine how the project's users access and manage the project.
Project access is determined by project visibility (public or private) and project ownership. Project roles are scoped to a project and are separate from platform user roles.
-
Member - The role of users who have access to a project.
Project membership is determined depending on the project visibility:
-
Public projects - All users with the Author platform user role automatically become members of the project.
-
Private projects - Only users explicitly invited by the project owner can access the project. In private projects, the project owner controls the list of project members and determines who can access and work within the project.
-
-
Owner - The role assigned to the user who created the project or to users that were granted this role by another project owner. This user has additional administrative privileges related to managing the project.
For example, the project owner can:
-
Configure project settings.
-
Add or remove project members (for private projects).
-
Assign project roles to other users.
-
Delete the project.
