Poetry, dialogue and fragments of text

The lines element is used for content where the line breaks are important to the meaning of the text.

The lines element may be used to represent character dialogue, and text fragments where the line breaks can be considered to be part of the content. A good example of the lines element is to describe a poem.

A processor will treat line-end characters within a lines element to be part of the data; normally, for most other elements, line-end characters are ignored.

The lines element is similar to the pre element in HTML.
