Hi,

Many of our reviewers would like the ability to @mention another user in a comment or a message. Additionally, they would like the @mention to send an email notification to the person mentioned depending on their notification settings.

The idea being that the reviewer does not have to use another messaging platform to ask or respond to questions, and all questions and responses are captured directly in the review task.

This functionality is similar to what exists in Google Docs and Office 365 products.

Do you have this feature registered for Web Author as well? Our SME users who are using Web Author have also said they would like the ability to @mention other users in a Web Author comment. For what it's worth, we are using GitHub as our version control.

We are pleased to announce that Web Author 28.1 has been released.

You can now plug in a custom @mention list for review comments [1] and use comment hooks [2] to validate or react after save (for example to notify mentioned users).
