Releasing a Floating License
The floating license you are using will be released and returned to the pool if any of the following occur:
- The connection with the license server is lost.
- The Oxygen License Server will consume one license from the server's pool of licenses if at least one Oxygen editor window is opened (not necessarily focused). In other words, if a user wants to release a license, all Oxygen editor windows must be closed.
- You exit the application running on your machine, and no other copies of Oxygen License Server running on your machine are using your floating license.
- You register a Named User license with your copy of Oxygen License Server, and no other copies of Oxygen License Server running on your machine are using your floating license.
- Your computer idles for more than 2 hours.
- Your system administrator manually revokes the license.
Tip:
To prevent your floating license from being released,
you can use the Lock floating license action available in the Help menu in Oxygen XML
Editor/Developer/Author. You can use the same action to unlock the license. Note that your
system administrator can
also unlock your license.
