Hi, I am facing lag issue when typing or scrolling in the dita topic with a table of 5 columns with 9 rows.

The lags only happens when I turned on the full tags mode in maximised editor and it is related to my screen resolution at 1900x600. If I lower the resolution to 800x600,the lags are gone but it is impractical to work at such low resolution.

I am using eclipse SDK 4.3.2, I have tried on eclipse Galileo but it is having same lag issue.
the plugin I am using is com.oxygenxml.editor_15.2.0.v2014022718.

My env. : Java 1.7.0_25, windows 7 32-bit, Core i5 2.60GHz 4GB of RAM with display chip Nvidia 4200M.

Is anyone has similar problem or any solution for this lag problem?

Hi,

Since you mentioned the screen resolution, have you tried other intermediate resolutions (e.g. 1280x720)?
Does that work any better?

Could you try the same file on another computer? Do you get the same problem with that particular file?

Some laptops can be configured for maximum battery life at the expense of performance. Have you tried investigating the power settings, or testing the same scenario with the laptop plugged in (it should use a different power profile)?

We managed to reproduce the lag on our side, basically the more text in the visual editing mode you have showing on screen, the greater the lag is. We'll work on it and contact you with a direct email when we have a solution for it.

We are still working on this I'm afraid. Indeed as the amount of presented text increases (as the editing area is maximized) the editing and caret navigation become slower.
This slow-down can be traced back to Oxygen 15.1 when we introduced support for Arabic text. We'll keep looking to try and find a solution which supports both Arabic text in Eclipse and allows for fast editing. In the meantime you should try to decrease the editing area a little bit in order to increase the editing speed.

The current Oxygen version is 15.2 and we sometimes release minor bug fix release kits for Oxygen 15.2, this RSS usually announces this:

We'll try to add a small speed improvement for this situation in the next Oxygen 15.2 bug fix release (in about a month) which should decrease the lag.

The next Oxygen version (in about 2-3 months) will be version 16 which will include more fixes for this lag situation.

I just wanted to let you know that this problem has been resolved in the latest maintenance build of Oxygen 15.2, 2014040317 (released on April 8th):

Eclipse/Author:When editing tables in the Full Tags display mode, the number of visible tags affected performance significantly

Hi, it seems like the issue has came back in oXygen Author 16.1 when we have some complex tables with the full tags turn on. there is a delay of cursor movement/typing up to 6 secs.
