Fonts Preferences
Oxygen XML allows you to choose the fonts to be used in the Text, Design, and Grid editor modesText editor, and fonts for the Author mode that are not specified in the associated CSS stylesheet. To configure the font options, and go to Fonts.
The following options are available:
- Editor
- Specifies the font family, size, and weight to be used in the
Text mode editor.
Note:On macOS, the default font, Monaco, cannot be rendered in bold.Tip:If you have recently installed fonts in Windows and they do not appear in the list of available fonts, you need to make sure you install the fonts via the Install for all users option instead of Install for me. For more details, see Fonts Installed in Windows Do Not Appear in Fonts Preferences Page.
- Text
- This option allows you to choose the font used in Text mode.
There are two options available:
- Map to text font - Uses the same font for the basic text editor as the one set in .
- Customize - Allows you to configure various font-related options.
- Author default font
- Specifies the default font family, size, and weight to be used in Author mode. However, the default font will be overridden by the fonts specified in any CSS file associated with the open document.
- Author
- Allows you to configure various font-related options that will be used in Author mode. However, these font-related options will be overridden by rules specified in any CSS file associated with the open document.
- Schema default font

This option allows you to choose the font to be used in:
- The Design mode.
- Images with schema diagram fragments that are included in the HTML documentation generated from an XML Schema.
- Schema
- Allows you to configure various font-related options that will be used in:
- The Design mode of the XML Schema editor.
- Images with schema diagram fragments that are included in the HTML documentation generated from an XML Schema.
- Text antialiasing
- This option allows you to set the text anti-aliasing behavior:
- Default - Allows the application to use the setting of the operating system, if available.
- On - Sets the text anti-aliasing to pixel level.
- Off - Disables text anti-aliasing.
- Sub-pixel anti-aliasing modes, such as GASP, LCD_HRGB, LCD_HBGR, LCD_VRGB, and LCD_VBGR.
- Text components
- Specifies the font family, size, and weight to be used in text boxes within the interface. This same font influences the appearance of the content in the Project and DITA Maps Manager views.
- GUI
- Specifies the font family, size, and weight to be used for user interface labels.
- View titles font
- Specifies the font family, size, and weight to be used in the titles of the various views within the interface.
