Hi, Sorin, Mike.

Thanks for your responses.  I was able to get it working this morning  
using:

    <xsl:apply-templates select="//d:productname"/>

instead.  For whatever reason, attempting to use

    <xsl:value-of select="d:book/d:info/d:productname/>

wasn't working.  I had seen the page you directed me to before--in fact,  
it's in my bookmarks--but the missing namespace is what cost me there.  So  
I was able to generate the documentation appropriately.
