I'm finding the open/find resource dialog very handy, but I was surprised that opening it from a selected folder in a project does not limit its search to that folder, which is what I wanted.

Is that a reasonable expectation?

Also, is there the possibility of regular expression search against filenames? I didn't see an indication of that in the dialog or the online help.
