  From the support site:
  "Re-install the whole tree"
  Now in my dash
  Is an icon bright
  So oXygen's easy for me

[Yes, that is just a continuation of the first post's spoof. BTW, I
got the original lyrics from
http://www.kidsongs.com/lyrics/where-oh-where-has-my-little-dog-gone.html.]

OK, finally got into the office with enough time to re-install making
sure that the "Create symlinks" box was checked, and presto! -- it
worked. Thank you.

As for fixing the grey icon in the switcher, if it starts to really
bother me, I may try the Java 7 bit. But at the moment I'm content to
just wait for oXygen 15. (It's not a problem at all when it's the
only application represented by a grey question mark icon -- it gets
to be a pain only when there are other applications that also are so
represented. That hasn't happened to me much.)

Thanks again.
