As Eliot said, we need more details.

What version of the DITA OT are you using?
Can you give us some sample DITA content?
Are you using the PDF IDIOM DITA OT transformation or the old deprecated 
DITA OT PDF transformation?

The Dita Users thread you are referring to was started by someone using 
the old DITA OT PDF plugin.
