[oXygen-user] Per-Doctype Editor View Association?

Hi Eliot,

There are three possible levels where the default editor page (Text,
Grid, Author, Schema) should be specified:

- for an editor
- for a document type
- for a specific file

Currently we implement only the first option in Options->Preferences --
Editor / Pages.
Since 10.2 we implemented support for maintaining the editor page when a
file is reopened automatically when oXygen starts - that is a partial
implementation of the third option above.

We plan to implement also support for specifying a page at document type
level. There are a few issues as we first open the document and then
determine its associated document type so we will need to think whether
we just apply the page change at the moment we detected the document
type (and that may be visible to the user) or try to move the document
type detection before opening the file.

For the third option I am thinking of an Open in... (or something like
that) action that should allow choosing the page to be used to open a
file and if that is different from the default then we can record it
oXygen options and reuse that on normal Open action.

Best Regards,
George
