My measure of software...

One way that I measure the value of a piece of software that I've purchased is by asking myself if I regret purchasing said software, even a little.
I'm happy to say that oXygen is one of the few pieces of software I've purchased for which I have zero regrets.
I find the interface well designed, the feature set robust, and for what I do most (DocBook) even Emacs doesn't hold a candle to what I can do with oXygen.
The fact that it's written in Java is a godsend, since it allows me to run it on my platforms of choice (GNU/Linux and OS X).
Additionally, support has been great and bugfixes (Java 5 focus issues come to mind) have been rapidly fixed, tested, and rolled out.
I use it for all of my DocBook work at MCI, and at school other grad students are always amazed at how nice the editor is and how painlessly <plug>oXygen and DocBook</plug> allow me to create sophisticated documents without "Clippy" popping up cheerfully every couple of minutes to completely reformat the work in progress.
So, thanks to everyone at SyncRO Soft for a great product.
