Registration Dialog only opens once

Hello,

we are using the Eclipse oXygen Author Version 14.1.

It seems that the registration-dialog of oXygen occurs only once, when an editor is opened the first time.
When this registration-dialog is accidentally closed by the user it does not occur any more, but the content which is shown in the editor is not editable any more.

The problem with that is that the user came to me and just said that the oXygen Author does allow him to modify the content.
It took some time to figure out that the user did not enter a licence key.
After putting it in the user preferences everything worked.

Is it somehow possible to figure out, if a valid licence exists in order to inform the user about this circumstance.
Or could you please show the registration dialog every time a user tries to open a document in the oXygen Author? Or give the user a visual advice, why the editor is not editable?

Best regards,

Simon

Hello,

If no license key is found, the registration dialog appears when the Oxygen plugin is initialized (when an editor is opened or when switching to an Oxygen perspective). This happens only once per Eclipse session. If you restart Eclipse, the registration dialog will appear again when Oxygen is initialized.
If you ignore the registration dialog, the plugin remains unlicensed. As a result all actions are disabled and you cannot modify or save any document until you enter a license key either in that dialog or in Window > Preferences > Author (or <oXygen/> for Editor/Developer) > Register.

I have logged a request to our issue tracking tool to make things more obvious when the plugin is in this unlicensed state.

Regards,
Adrian
