alignment of text and tables

hi i'm using the oxygen xml editor for editing a number of dita files and i'm only using the non code layout (i'm not editing any xml tags, or "coding" just doing the equivalent of word processing).

i was trying to align a simple table so that the contents of the table are aligned to the center, but can't seem to find anything in the attributes to enforce this. the headers of the table are in bold and aligned to the center but not the table contents themselves. finding this very frustrating, there isn't a left, center, right or justify toolbar button either. am i just missing something here?

thanks
ash

Hi Ash,

From what I know there is no attribute to set on a DITA <simpletable> to center the cell content.
You can also ask this question on the DITA Users List to make sure:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/dita-users/

But:
If instead of adding a <simpletable> you add a CALS <table>, the CALS table has a <tgroup> child element on which you can set the align="center" attribute (for example select the tgroup for the Outline and edit the attribute in the Attributes view).

Radu
