When you are in Project view, and you select Validate Selection with...
Is it possible to do a file filter so that oxygen does not try to validate all non-xml files?

Hello,

Yes, you can set a filter for ignoring files in the Project view with the Filters toolbar button (the icon ). All the files that match the ignore files filter will be excluded from the batch validation actions of the Project view (Validate Selection, Validate Selection with, Check Well Form).

We plan to exclude from validation in a future version all the files that are not associated by default or in the Preferences (menu Options -> Preferences -> File Types) with an editor type that supports validation (XML Editor, XSL Editor, RNG Editor, RNC Editor, XQuery Editor, etc).
