catalog workings

If you do not have internet access or a slow connection,
you use the catalog to replace the external pointers to locally available files.

But what happens if you have selected a catalog in your preferences, but your internet access is up and fast.
I have the impression that still the local files are used then.

If correct, isn't there a way to have a 'conditional' catalog?
First try to go outside. Having no quick response, use the catalog.

Many thanks,

Paul

Hello,

No, there is no conditional catalog setting. Before connecting to the URL Oxygen always tries to map that URL to a local file by looking for a match in all the XML catalogs set for the type of the current document (Options -> Preferences -> Document Type Association -- Catalogs) and in all the XML catalogs set globally for all documents types (Options -> Preferences -> XML -> XML Catalog). This is how a catalog resolver works in XML parsers. If you prefer to connect directly to the URL you have to remove the XML catalog that maps the URL to the local file from the catalog list.
