Difference between 1-year license and subscription?

Hi there.
What's the difference between the 1-year $119 academic license + SMP and the $59 subscription? Is it just that there's no explicit support and no updates during the year?

Cheers,
Martin

Hello,
The subscription license expires when the subscription ends. When the subscription ends the application cannot be used without purchasing a new subscription.
The permanent license allows to the registered user to run that specific version of Oxygen XML as she/he may need (the license does not expire).

The main benefit of having a license covered by the Support and Maintenance Pack (SMP) option is that it keeps your license compatible with any newer versions of Oxygen released during the period of SMP coverage. Purchasing the licenses together with the 1-year SMP option, then renewing the SMP on a yearly basis when the SMP is close to expire (through SMP Renewals) is a cost-efficient way to keep the licenses up-to-date without being need to purchase upgrades (which are a significantly more expensive alternative).
