cannot find .spell directory or .tdi files

Hi,
The oXygen documentation says the following regarding the spell checker:
"Learned words are stored into an persistent learned-words dictionary with the .tdi extensions located in [user-home-dir]/spell directory ([user-home-dir]/.spell directory on Mac OS X). There is one dictionary for each language-country variant combination. If the Learn button is pressed by mistake the only possibility to delete the learned word from the learned-words dictionary is to edit this dictionary manually and restart <oXygen/> because the spell-check component does not allow its editing by the user interface."
Since it has happened to me that I pressed the Learn button in error, I wanted to erase the word from the Learned Words dictionary following these instructions, but I cannot find either the .spell directory or any .tdi files on my system, not in my home directory or anywhere else. I am using oXygen 8.2 on Mac OS X. I know that the .spell directory is supposed to be hidden, so I had the Finder display hidden files, but I still cannot find them. Can someone tell me what might be going wrong here?
Thanks for your help,
Wolfhart
