change default backup suffix

Hi!
Is it possible to change the default backup suffix ".bak" to e.g. "~"?

Hello,
In the current version (7.2) that is not possible. I will file an enhancement request on our bugzilla to allow specifying the extension of the backup file when the automatic save of the edited file is enabled.

We added the possibility to change the extension for the backup files. The option will be available in the next release.
