Hi,

We have a use case to import a pdf file as graphics into TPS and embed that pdf with a link into DITA Topics.
When we see the preview of this topic, it should display the link and upon clicking the link, the pdf file should open up.
any help to have this use case working is appreciated.

Thanks,
Gopinath selvam

Hi Gopinath,

If you have the DITA topic opened in Oxygen in the Author visual editing mode, in the main "DITA" menu there should be a "Link" submenu allowing you to add a file reference, so you could add for example a link to that second PDF file.

Hi Radu,

I am using Oxygen XML author version-17.1 integrated with Tech Pub Studio - 2.7 and I don't see any sub menu as link under DITA menu.
I am seeing a related link tag in DITA Topics and if I href a PDF using link tag underneath it, I don't get to open the embedded PDF.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Gopinath Selvam

Hi Gopinath,

As you are using Oxygen embedded in a larger solution (which modifies its default behavior) maybe you could ask the makers of the "Tech Pub Studio" how such a link should be added.

Radu

You can create in-line links in the content of a DITA topic using the xref element. The destination of the link can be expressed directly by using the href attribute and the target can be another topic or a specific element within the other topic, another location within the same topic, a file, or a web link. You can also create direct related links to topics, files, or websites in a DITA topic using the related-links element.
