Author and Grid views disappear from XML Editor

Help! I'm working on a tight schedule and oXygen XML Editor 19.0 is not cooperating.
Today, for who knows what reason, I launched oXygen XML Editor, opened a ditamap file, and noticed that both the Grid and Author view had disappeared. I tried opening several other xml files, but never did find the Grid and Author views in XML Editor. The alternative views haven't disappeared from XML Author, but the only thing I'm able to do in any view of XML Author is to insert a copied table.
I'm a writer, not a developer, so what this means is that when I have to copy a table from a Word doc into oXygen, I need to lauch XML Author in addition to XML Editor. It also means that I cannot make any other edits in XML Author, so I have to return to XML Editor every time I even need to change a filename.
I'm sure I've done something really dumb to cause this strangeness, but I've been working with oXygen for 10+ years now and I've never had this happen before.
Advice? Anything?
