XPath signatures tooltips are in my way

It took me a while to figure out how to get rid of the tooltips that display XPath signatures. When editing XQuery code they show up almost immediately. The tooltip is often in the way, blocking my view onto the code itself.
I guess that sometimes they could be helpful but I started to dislike them and tried to find ways to get rid of them.

First I fiddled around with the Annotations settings and the activation delay for the content completion proposals. To me it wasn't immediately obvious that these tooltips could be switched off one level deeper under Content Completion > XPath > Show sigatures of XSLT/XPath functions.

I hoped there was another way of making these tooltips less annoying but I decided to switch them off as this is the only option I could find.

Is there a better way to provide them? Or to customize how they appear?

Other than that still happy with the product though.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for telling us about this, I added an issue and we'll try to see if we can find any solutions on our side for making the tooltips less intrusive.
I guess the problem is that we display it over the current edited line. We did this because the content completion window is showing under the current line.
If you have any hint for how you would like the signature placed, please tell us and we'll try to take your opinion into account.

Radu
