Automate Creation of Nav Tiltles in Bookmaps

Is there way to automate the creation of nav titles in bookmaps with oXygen XML Author? Previously my company used Arbortext Editor and one could select Tools > Update References and the bookmap would be populated with the nav titles. This is useful when viewing the bookmap in the Author/Editor view.

Hi,
Right now we do not have a way to automatically set the navtitle when creating a topicref. We are skeptical to add redundant information, for example if you later on change the title in the topic you need to remember to also change it in the DITA Map.
One workaround for you when opening the DITA Map in the main editor area in the Author editing mode would be to use the Styles drop-down button and choose the style Show topic titles which will detect the titles directly from the referenced topics.

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that oXygen 18 includes a new option that controls the automatic creation of navtitle for topic references.
In "DITA" preferences page there is a new checkbox in "insert Topic Reference" section, called "Navigation title" (that is unchecked by default). If checked, when the "Insert Reference"/"Edit Properties" dialog is used, the navigation title attribute is automatically filled with the title of the selected resource.
