Oxygen XML Forum

Hello,
I received a request to provide documents in SPL (Structured Product Labeling) format which an XML format. I'm looking for some information regarding how to use this schema (made of 48 xsd files) and if it would be possible to transform DITA content in SPL.
I guess I should start by creating a new framework in Oxygen but would need some advice to do so.
I'll also post the question on DITA Yahoo users group.
Any hint or help appreciated,

Hi Annette,

We (the Oxygen team) have no experience working with SPL schema.
If you want to ask Oxygen users about this, you should register the Oxygen mailing list and ask the question there, the forum is a more static place and most users only receive notifications for the threads that they participated in.
Indeed also the DITA Users List will give you access to a large number of writers, potentially you can find someone there who has worked with the format.

I'll register the mailing list to ask the question but regarding how to use Oxygen with a *new* schema, is it possible? is there a tutorial about it ? I didn't find information in the help system.

Hi Annette,

You can configure Oxygen to allow editing and validating any type of XML.
Usually if there are a bunch of schemas available for the XML vocabulary, they also come with an XML catalog, a file usually called "catalog.xml". You can download the schemas folder and in the Oxygen Preferences->XML / XML Catalog page. This would allow you to edit such XMLs in the Text editing mode and to receive validation errors if they are invalid according to the schemas. If you want visual editing in the Author editing mode, you need to create a CSS for this and either associate it directly with the XML document or create a framework customization for it.
