Hi
Please explain the difference between a oxygenXML standalone and eclipse plugin? I installed the oxygenxml version 9.2 with eclipse plugin. I would like to know how does it benefit from the older version of oxygenXML without an eclipse plug in. Please help

Hello Julie,
The difference is that Oxygen standalone is installed and launched as any other independent application, that is it does not need the Eclipse platform or other type of container to be used. It just needs a Java runtime environment installed on your computer. If your platform is a Windows one you can download and install the Oxygen kit which includes a Java virtual machine which means you do not need to install a JVM before installing and using Oxygen.
The Eclipse plugin runs inside the Eclipse platform so you need first to install the Eclipse platform and after that install the Oxygen plugin as an Eclipse plugin with
the plugin installation mechanism of Eclipse.
The features are almost the same in Oxygen standalone and the Eclipse plugin. You can find the differences
listed in a feature matrix.
