Can reviewers re-order topics in a task?

If a reviewer feels the topics in a task are in the wrong order, can the reviewer move topics around in a task?

For example, if the task includes:

task 1
task 2
task 3

Can the reviewer change the order of tasks to be the following?

task 1
task 3
task 2

Hello,

Since you talk about topics, I will assume you are using DITA. Correct me if not.

If you specify a context DITA Map for that review task, the order in which the topics will be presented to the reviewers will be the order in which they occur in the DITA Map. I was wondering what is your case:
  • You do not specify a DITA Map. If yes, why?
  • The order of the topics you see in the Web UI for the task does not match the order in the DITA Map. If yes, it means you found a case in which this ordering does not work. It would be great if you can share a sample map on which this happens. You can send it using our support form: https://www.oxygenxml.com/techSupport.html.
  • You want to choose a different order from the one in the DITA Map. If yes, we would like to understand why, so that we can add more arguments for a feature request.
Best,
Cristian

Yes, I am talking about DITA topics.

I installed the evaluation version of Content Fusion and created a review task in Content Fusion that consists of several topics from a ditamap. I did specify a ditamap for the review task, but I didn't mention the ditamap in my original question to you. From your response, now I understand that the order of topics in a Content Fusion review task are based on the ditamap that I specify when creating the review task.

The remaining part of my question is whether a reviewer can change the order of topics in the review task after I send them the review task. That would mean the topics in the review task would be ordered differently from the way those topics appear in the ditamap.

In the past, I've had reviewers ask to move topics around in the section that I send them to review. One of the reasons why we are evaluating Content Fusion is that reviewers tell me that using google docs for reviews is awkward, especially when they want to move topics around in a large google doc. So I was hoping that reviewers would be able to rearrange topics more easily if I sent them a Content Fusion review task.

Hello,

In Oxygen Content Fusion, when you send a DITA Map to be reviewed, reviewers can open it, and change the order of the topics using either drag & drop or using the dedicated toolbar actions. To this end, you need to include the DITA Map explicitly among the files to be reviewed.

The list of the files rendered on the left side-view does not change after the map is modified. This is a limitation that we plan to relax in the future. We will update this thread when we implement this.

Best,
Cristian
