Hi,

Is it true that image floats are not supported in this kind of transformation?
Images with an outputclass attribute :float-.... are rendered as a background images. :(

Indeed, the float is experimental, so I would not recommend using it yet. I will increase the priority of this feature.

Many regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Could you possibly estimate a time frame?
I'd love to save the trees indeed ;-)

It will not be done on short term. If you are in a hurry, please consider using Antenna House or Prince XML as CSS processors, they are great layout engines. You can use the css.processor.type and css.processor.path.* parameters to specify the path to the processor to use. https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... eters.html
Note that these processors will not offer support for specific Oxygen PDF Chemistry CSS extensions, like the one for extracting information from the document using oxy_xpath (and others listed here https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... tions.html), and they do not support :before(n) :after(n) static pseudo elements.

Many regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I did tests with Antenna House, so I know that it supports that feature.
But due to the missing features you've mentioned, I prefer the Chemistry processor.

What do you mean saying "not to be done on short term"? Could you elaborate this a little?
Are we talking about weeks, months or years of development?
I'm OK without these floats but really would like to see the horizon. ;-)

Floats are a complex task. We are trying to implement it in the next major version, for the next autumn...
Many regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Any success with floats? As we have autumn, and the next major release has been released. :D

Hello Piotr,

We are still analyzing a solution to implement the float property support in PDF.
I will let you know where the solution will be available.

Hi Piotr,

Unfortunately for the moment we are still analyzing the issue. This is quite a big change inside the PDF processor and as you will surely understand we need to take care of it and not breaking anything while adding this functionality.

But all hope is not gone, we plan to add this feature as quick as possible as it's considered important.
I will let you know as soon as it will be available.

Regards,
Julien
