Hi DITA experts,

In normal English PDF, μV is shown correctly, however in Chinese PDF, μV is shown in "μ V", μ is not in English character set Calibri, while in Chinese character set SimSun,

BTW, the Engish terms, mA, ping, etc., are shown correctly in Chinese PDF as English words.

How can "μ" be published in English Character set?
Thanks!

Lisa Zeng

Hi Lisa,

Are you publishing using the XSL-FO based PDF transformation or our Oxygen specific CSS-based PDF?
You probably already defined a sequence of fallback fonts for publishing, something like "Calibri, SimSun". Maybe between them you can add another English font which can display " μ". Maybe "Arial"...
In the Oxygen Preferences->"Appearance / Fonts" page if you use one of the "Choose" buttons there, in the font chooser there is a "Show only fonts that can render the sample text" checkbox. If you check that and modify the sample text to be " μ", the font drop down should update to show all fonts which can render " μ", maybe this will give you some indication about what extra fonts can be used.

Regards,
Radu
