Hi,
I have a DITA file that holds all my commonly reused phrases i.e. conrefs.dita.
Some of these entries are product names that include trademarks e.g.

Code: Select all

 

 <ph id="product1">Product1<tm tmtype="reg"/></ph>

 <ph id="product2">Product 2<tm tmtype="service"/></ph>

 <ph id="product3">Product 3<tm tmtype="reg"/></ph>

These (the tm or sm suffixes) resolve fine when used within all DITA elements except <title> where they don't display at all.

Is this a known feature?

Hi Ann,

Unfortunately, the DITA-OT does not seem to handle ™ elements that are inside a topic title.

There is also an open issue that we reported to DITA-OT issues tracking-system on GitHub:
https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issues/2930

As this is a DITA-OT limitation, I'm afraid we have no work-around that we could provide.
