Prefix 'Step' in Task Steps

hi all,

when publishing Task with Steps, it is numbered list. I would like to have prefix infront of each number (Step1, Step 2..).

documentation is in multiple language. that means prefix should be language specific.

will appreciate if something can let me know how to do this for webhelp and PDF publications stylesheets.

regards,
rnv

Hi,

DITA-OT
does not currently allow you to add the Step labels in task steps.
We have just added an improvement request to the DITA-OT project and you can watch how it evolves here:

Hi,

It seems that the issue we added on the DITA OT issues list was closed because the newest DITA OT 2.x version available for download on their website created a special variable for the step static text, variable which can later be translated in the translation files from a PDF customization folder.
Right now with the DITA OT 2.x currently shipped with Oxygen 19.0 you can override the entire XSLT template which deals with the task step in your PDF customization and add the static text.
For the web-based outputs you can probably have a CSS customization which adds this static text before each list item in the HTML document. Each step-related list item should have a step-specific @outputclass attribute value in the HTML document so you can match on it from the CSS.
