Open topic from auto-complete search field

My compliments on WebHelp Response, Version 19.0. The search feature is a great improvement.

Is there a modification that I can make so that when a user clicks one of the topics displayed in the Search field, the selected page opens instead of having to click the Search button?

Hi,

Thank you for the kind words.

Just to make sure I have correctly understood your request, when you select a topic from the Search field would you like to automatically perform the Search action? In this case the search results page will be displayed.
Or would you expect to perform the search action, skip the search results page and the first ranked page for that search should be automatically opened?

Unfortunately, none of these functionalities are currently available in the oXygen XML WebHelp Responsive.
We need to log this feature request in our issue tracking tool and I wanted to make sure I correctly understand what would you like to achieve.

Regards,
Ionela

Hi Ionela,

What I'd like is when you click an item in the auto-complete, it opens the selected page. For example:

Enter "cluster" in the Search field.
The auto-complete list shows:

cluster
Managing a cluster
Adding a cluster
Deleting a cluster

I want to simply click "Adding a cluster" and have that page open. If I don't select an item from the list, the Search Results page should be shown.

This saves the user a step and matches the behavior of other search engines I've seen.
