Tags views in Author mode

I’m creating authoring guidelines for a group of training developers who will use oXygen XML Author to edit DITA content in Author mode. I would like to be able to recommend a tags view. The screen captures, and sometimes the procedures in my documentation, are dependent on the tags view. Since I use Text mode 99% of the time, I would appreciate advice on the most usable, or the most commonly used, tags view.

One of the training developers is experienced in Structured FrameMaker; the others have little or no experience with a structured authoring tool.

Thanks.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Not sure what advice to give you because it depends on what each writer is comfortable with.
By default Oxygen comes with the "Partial Tags" display and we are using it internally mostly like this. There are various tooltips and helpers (Outline, Breadcrumb) which show the writers in which tag they are writing.
On the other hand we have big clients (IBM) who seemed to prefer the "Full Tags" view but they have proficient and experienced writers.
Maybe you could also register and ask around on the Oxygen Users List.

Regards,
Radu
