Character map as a view?

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to make the character map available as a separate view just like Elements, Outline, Entities etc. ?

It would make it a lot easier for editors to enter special characters without moving the character-map-window around the screen for lack of screen display.

Or is there already a way to configure this feature?

Thanks and regards,
Mutzel

Hi Mutzel,

For the moment it is not possible to make the "Character Map" available as a separate view. I have added your request in our system.

If you want an easy access to certain character codes you could create code templates in the Oxygen Preferences->"Editor / Templates / Code Templates" page, with the character codes as content.

These code templates appear in the content completion list when pressing ENTER in the Author page and you will be able to insert them easily.

See our online documentation for more details:

Hi,

Oxygen 15.0 was just released.
In Oxygen 15.0 we added available a special Symbols toolbar which can be used to keep a number of mostly used symbols.
