The format of messages in Eclipse (Problem tab specifically) uses only a single line, whereas the message output from oXygen is multi-line. This makes the messages difficult to read since they contain control characters in Eclipse.

Can they be fixed, or can I view them multi-line in Eclipse?

Thanks for reporting this. The message is displayed on multiple lines if you hold your mouse over the problem marker in the overview ruller (in the right part of the editor) . We will try to find a solution to have the message properly displayed also in the problem view.
