Generate single xml file from ditamap

Hello,

It would be great if Oxygen could transform a ditamap (regular ditamap or bookmap) as a single xml file and then back to the ditamap. This would be extremely useful for translations. Ideally, the single file would be in xliff format, but I think xml would do too. An out-of-the-box transformation, or tranformations, that handle this would add enormous value to the dita part of the Oxygen editor.

I find that you are close with the "Open map in editor with resolved topics" feature in the DITA Maps Manager. Saving this from the editor as a single xml file would be great. But the problem is getting the xml (or xliff) file back into the ditamap.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Thanks for the feature request, it will be discussed.
In the meantime you can find here a presentation for DITA to XLiff and back (using the Swordfish project from what I've figured):

Thanks, Radu. I did try Swordfish but could not get it to work. Word on the street is that there may be an xliff round-trip tool included in a future version of the DITA-OT. That would be sweet.
