If you have a DITA map
Code: Select all
<map>
<topicref href="about.dita" navtitle="About"/>
</map>
and about.dita does not exist, Maps Manager will show "about.dita" in the tree, instead of using the navtitle "About". You can force the use of navtitle by adding locktitle="yes", but in this case where the topic is not available, I think navtitle should be used in the manager. Expecially for scope="external" the navtitle should be used by default.
Also, the topicref icon could signal that the topic is not available. For scope "peer" or "external" this naturally should not be used.

Hi Jarno,
Indeed, if the referenced topic does not exist I think we could use the navigation title even if "locktitle" is not specified as "yes".
We registered this request and will discuss it for a future version.

Radu

Oxygen XML Editor 11.2, Professional
Has this feature been implemented is some way? It would be a very useful feature if the DITA Map Editor or main editor showed some type of visual indication when a topic reference cannot be resolved.
Best regards,

Dear Severin,
Oxygen 12 will have an action available on the toolbar of the DITA Maps Manager view called "Validate and Check for Completeness" which will check broken links (topic refs, xrefs, image refs, conrefs, keyrefs, conkeyrefs, etc).
If you are interested in it, contact us to the support address and I'll try to make to you an Oxygen 12 beta available+a trial license for tests.
Regards,
Radu
