Suggestions for optimizing the Term Checker plugin

Dear Oxygen team,
We are currently examining the possibility of using the terminology we would like to built up in several places. The following considerations are involved:
1. Checking the terminology at the time of content creation (live)
2. Checking the terminology when validating the entire Ditamap
3. Using the validation file before automated transformation

My questions:
1. Why does Term Checker not support displaying events in the text view? A similar display with a light bulb could be added, as with other events in Oxygen (see [attachment]).
2. Is there a uniform format that could be used by Term Checker to check terminology and as an additional validation file? This would greatly simplify maintenance and scale the possibilities.

Thank you very much!

Hi,
The initial purpose of the Terminology Checker add-on was to show highlights in the Author visual editor mode.
There is still a way to use it as a validation stage in a validation scenario:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-addons ... 41_3vc_xsb
Create a new validation scenario or edit an existing validation scenario, and add a new validation stage. For the File type field, choose XML Document and for the Validation engine field, choose Terminology checker.

Radu

Thanks, Radu, for the quick response.
So, there are no plans to develop the text highlighting feature, and it won't be added to the backlog? I think that's a pity, as the tool brings a great deal of potential and is a long-awaited tool for many technical writers, who prefer to write in text view (e.g., via XML Oxygen Developer).

Best regards
Sergio

Hi Sergio,

As per my attached screenshot, once one adds a validation stage using the term checker add-on, the problems are reported in all editing modes:

This would be with XML Editor and XML Author. XMl Developer from what I remember cannot install the Term Checker add-on as the add-on declares not to be compatible with it.

Radu

Hi Radu,
thanks for the tip.
I tested it and it works. However, a function to directly replace the suggested terminology term would be very helpful, as currently you either have to correct it yourself or switch to author view each time to make the change.
Best regards
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
I undestand, we do not have plans in investing time to improve the Text editor mode integration of the Terminology Checker.

Radu
